The PGR Educators Manual is divided in to six parts:

Introduction

The introduction provides useful information about the PGR program and running PGR workshops. The information includes: program background, aims and objectives, program and manual overview, the role of PGR Educators and the PGR Project Officer and what you will need to prepare for your workshop. There is also information on the Stages of Change Model to help PGR Educators most effectively influence people to make positive behaviour changes.

Workshop A

Healthy Eating, Healthy Behaviours
The following information is covered in this workshop: children's current eating habits, the Dietary Guidelines for Children and Adolescents, The Australian Guide to Healthy Eating, introduction to breastfeeding, reading and understanding food labels, healthy eating habits for families, the roles and responsibilities of parents and children at mealtimes, fussy eating, physical activity, the benefits of healthy lifestyle change and details about the healthy food and drink policy in schools.

Spending Food Money Wisely

Physical Activity, Fit for Life
The following information is covered in this workshop: children's current physical activity habits, benefits of physical activity, national recommendations, fundamental movement skills, reducing screen time, practical ideas, overcoming barriers (e.g. weather, lack of time, cost, safety) and physical activity programs available for children in Western Australia.

Supplement Workshop

Healthy Communities
This workshop is often run after another workshop. It provides information to parents about how they can improve their children's food and physical activity choices outside the home. It encourages parents to form groups with other parents and advocate for improved nutrition and physical activity options.
